Monday marked the launch of Arcium Mainnet Alpha, the first production milestone of the Arcium Network and the moment encrypted computation became operational on Solana mainnet.
Mainnet Alpha delivers the core infrastructure required for secure, general-purpose encrypted compute. It is the foundation upon which Arcium will progressively decentralize, strengthen privacy guarantees, and expand across blockchains and off-chain environments.
This is the first tangible step toward a fully decentralized encrypted execution engine for the internet.
Why Arcium Exists
Blockchains were built on radical transparency. Every transaction, state change, and interaction is public, permanent, and easily attributable.
What once felt like a feature has increasingly become a liability.
In an era shaped by AI, data aggregation, and automated inference, transparent systems risk becoming the most powerful surveillance infrastructures ever created. Without privacy at the computation layer, blockchains impose hard limits on what can be built, adopted, and trusted at scale.
Arcium was created in response to this constraint.
But privacy is not only about protection. It is also about enablement.
Removing plaintext from computation expands the design space. Once there is no hard ceiling on what can be computed privately, entirely new classes of applications become possible—systems that were previously impractical or impossible to deploy on transparent infrastructure.
Arcium treats privacy not as a feature, but as a general-purpose design primitive.
From Idea to Network
Arcium emerged from firsthand experience building privacy systems on Solana.
After launching Elusiv, one of the earliest zero-knowledge privacy protocols on Solana, it became clear that zero-knowledge proofs alone were not the endgame. Privacy needed to move beyond special-purpose use cases and become general-purpose infrastructure.
In May 2024, that realization crystallized into the idea of an encrypted supercomputer.
Shortly after, Arcium acquired Inpher’s core team and technology, bringing together some of the world’s leading cryptographers and the Manticore protocol—one of the fastest encrypted computation systems for AI and machine learning. Today, the Arcium team spans applied cryptography, mathematics, and machine learning, with more than 79 peer-reviewed publications across MPC, FHE, and privacy-preserving ML.
Since the public testnet launched in May 2025, developer activity has grown rapidly. Native applications are now being built exclusively on Arcium, alongside increasing demand for integrations with existing Solana projects.
Mainnet Alpha is where this work moves from experimentation to production.
What Is Mainnet Alpha?
Mainnet Alpha is the first production-ready phase of the Arcium Network.
In this initial stage:
The network operates in a permissioned configuration
A first cluster of independent node operators secures the system
The setup enables close monitoring of performance, stability, and user experience
There is no network token at this stage
This controlled environment allows Arcium to validate the system under real mainnet conditions while preparing for broader decentralization.
Mainnet Alpha launches with Solana as the first supported ecosystem, enabling general-purpose privacy to coexist on an otherwise transparent ledger. Support for additional blockchains and off-chain environments will follow as the network matures.
The First Live Applications
Umbra Private Mainnet is the first application live on Arcium Mainnet Alpha.
Umbra is building a private financial layer for Solana, with anonymous transfers, swaps, yield, encrypted balances, and an SDK powering the Umbra wallet and other applications. Access will roll out gradually:
$500 deposit cap
100 users onboarded weekly
Public release in February, with limits lifted
The public release of Umbra will take place next month, at which point all restrictions will be lifted.
Beyond Umbra, multiple teams are progressing toward launch across encrypted finance, opportunity markets, games, and private coordination primitives. Notable projects include Pythia, Melee, Vanish, Anonmesh, and others building deeply within their respective domains.
At the same time, Confidential SPL (C-SPL) is approaching its final stages—bringing confidential tokens directly to Solana and unlocking deeper ecosystem integrations.
RTGs are Live
Alongside Mainnet Alpha, the RTG Portal and Eligibility Checker are now live.
RTGs represent a long-term contribution-based incentive model designed to prioritize trust, context, and sustained participation over transactional activity. New RTGs will continue to roll out ahead of full mainnet, with Wave 1 eligibility now revealed.

The Path to Full Mainnet
Mainnet Alpha is a foundation, not the destination.
In the coming weeks, Arcium will:
Transition from a trusted dealer setup to a preprocessing-based MPC model following final audits
Continue research on identifiable aborts, performance optimizations, and developer tooling
Advance C-SPL toward devnet and mainnet readiness
Prepare for staking and slashing tied to key recovery
Introduce a lightweight node role for key storage and recovery, enabling broader participation and stronger decentralization
Each release strengthens the network’s security, scalability, and privacy guarantees on the path to full mainnet.
Encrypted Capital Markets—and Beyond
Encrypted computation has long been the missing primitive in crypto.
With Mainnet Alpha, that primitive is now live.
Over the long term, Arcium’s ambition extends far beyond a single chain or use case. Encrypted computation enables new forms of finance, AI, governance, and digital coordination – systems where participation does not require exposure.
Born out of the Solana ecosystem, Arcium brings encrypted computation to Solana first. From there, the vision expands outward: setting a new standard for how computation is performed across blockchains, and ultimately, across the internet itself.
